The following equation sums up the photosynthesis reaction:

Light from the sun is actually energy, and is advantageous to the Earth in several ways. One of the most important ways is through photosynthesis. Plants absorb the red and blue wavelengths of light energy, and reflect the green wavelength. This is why plants appear to be green; that is the color not being absorbed by the plants.

How are we going to feed 10 billion people by 2050 while combating and mitigating the effects of global climate change? The world will need to double crop yield to give everyone food security and enable a sustainable industrial base. This will require a revolution in agriculture. Such a revolution can be provided through technology that focuses on re-designing the engine of biological productivity – photosynthesis.

Other products ofphotosynthesis are formed by incorporating mineral elements into theprocess.

There are two types of photosynthetic processes: oxygenic photosynthesis and anoxygenic photosynthesis. Oxygenic photosynthesis is the most common and is seen in plants, algae and cyanobacteria.

During oxygenic photosynthesis, light energy transfers electrons from water (H2O) to carbon dioxide (CO2), which produces carbohydrates. In this transfer, the CO2 is "reduced," or receives electrons, and the water becomes "oxidized," or loses electrons. Ultimately, oxygen is produced along with carbohydrates.

Hence, land plants undergo photosynthesis naturally without any special adaptations.

Various other living beings, including humans, are either direct, or indirect beneficiaries of photosynthesis.

Sunlight is one of the basic requirements when it comes to photosynthesis and that explains why plants don't photosynthesize at night.

This carbon dioxide is stored as a four-carbon acid, and is eventually used during the process of photosynthesis on the next day.

Other than plants, even some species of algae and bacteria resort to this process in order to generate their food.

This is obtained from the oxygen released at the time of photosynthesis.

Similarly, the various anoxygenic photosynthesis reactions can be represented as a single generalized formula:

Photosynthesis takes place in leaf cells. These contain chloroplasts, which are tiny objects containing chlorophyll.

What Is Produced By Plants During Photosynthesis? - …

Photosynthesis generates all the breathable oxygen in the atmosphere, and renders plants rich in nutrients. But researchers have been looking at ways to further harness the power of the process.

What is the basic food made by a plant during photosynthesis?

Respiration occurs in your cells and is fueled by the oxygen you inhale. The carbon dioxide gas you exhale is the result of a completed cycle of cellular respiration.

I have koi in outside fish ponds. At times during the long summer days there is an occurrence called an algae bloom where the water in the pond becomes filled with very small suspended algae. During the day there is no problem with the respiration of the koi that I have in the pond… but because the algae use up so much available oxygen during the night and do not add any O2 to the water…my koi in the very early morning hours before the sunlight starts photosynthesis of the algae run out of the amount of oxygen they need for respiration and are forced to breathe atmospheric O2 at the surface of the pond! They gasp for O2 out of the water from the atmosphere where there is enough available for them to survive. My point is in water ponds there is a semi closed environment where plants can use up so much oxygen at night that they force the fish to get their oxygen elsewhere. When days become shorter the algae bloom will naturally diminish if I wait it out and do not do massive water changes or resort to killing the floating algae with a chemical plant killer algaecide that will not kill my fish if used in the proper doses. Plants do use O2 at night and do not give off any O2 in darkness!

During photosynthesis in green plants, ..

Only plants can photosynthesize, but both plants and animals depend on respiration to release the chemical potential energy originally captured through photosynthesis.

What food do plants produce during photosynthesis?

The plants and cyanobacteria (which use water as a hydrogendonor and produce oxygen) have Photosystems I and II, whereas theless highly evolved other photosynthetic bacteria(which do notuse water as their hydgrogen donor and do not produce oxygen)have only Photosystem I.
